Alternate Titles: "Fun for the Colour Blind" "So many circles" "Oh God what was I thinking with this background??? T_T"
Anyway, this is Sailor Keme, a kiriban prize (/art trade) for
Uh... It was going to be something simple and quick, but I ended up going a bit overboard with the background and ended up spending the whole day on the thing. You will not believe the cramps in my hand from holding the tablet pen.
Not too much to say really. I like the style of it, its unique and different. Only big issue I have is the cheek line. Lines like this will age a character if you use them in certain spots. Cover this cheek line with your finger and see the difference it makes.
Other thing is the hips. The style calls for a thin waistline, but the details along the senshi dress kind of make her even thinner than was planned. I don't know why but I just concentrate on the pure white of her waist and not the part with the yellow ribbons. I think these details get a little lost in the crazy background.
And as for that! Its messy but a stylistic messy. I only wish less circles had little innie-doodads inside of them, makin' 'em look like Q's. But that might be me being OCD. u-u;

The ageing effect of the cheekline is actually on purpose, haha! I don't know the actual age of the character, and while the concept pictures I was referencing did have her looking youngish, I got the feeling she was an adult rather than a teenager, so the cheek line was put in for that as well as cartoonish effect I should tone it down on some of my other cartoons that I'm working on, though, because it's becoming habit!
I actually have the same trouble as you seeing her skinnier than she actually is, but I didn't know why until you told me (and it seems really obvious, now). I'll have to think of a fix that doesn't lose out on the background :/
Haha, if it's you being OCD then it's just as easy for me to say that's me being lazy (and probably more true). When I sketched the circles, I got a bit carried away and then they sort of killed me in the inking/colouring stages >> I'll have to clean that up as well.
For those who have many watchers, and for those who dont have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally related to common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

The 0-5 Comments Issues feature a deviant as well as 3 deviations with less than 5 original comments from a wide selection of art. Please give your time to this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here.
